Grapes is one of the world's earliest discovered agriculture. Apart from its high nutrition values, its taste is refreshing, making it a good ingredient for wine-making or other dishes.

Grape growing in Australia has hit approximately 8,000 hectares of grape field, averaging out as 120,000 tonnes of grape produces every year. As of current statistics, the grape growing agricultural in Australia is worth A$3.3 million. As there is a strong demand for grapes from Asia, grapes export has been the main export product in Australia making it the highest priced export product. Approximately 65% of grape produces are exported across the world with the remaining 35% saved for domestic consumption. 

 

 


 

Between year 2016 and 2017, Australia exported 41,196 tonnes of grapes to Mainland China. This has made up 38.5% of total grape exports.

 

Australia owns over 10 types of grape products. The grapes mature between the November and May period each year. The popular grape harvesting areas in Australia include: Victoria's Sunraysia and Murray Valley, New South Wales' Riverina, and Queensland's Southeast region. Other grape growing areas are Carnavon, Swan Valley and Western Australia's Southwestern region, New South Wales' Central location, Southern Australia's Riverland and Northen Territory's Central location.
